Changing your Voicemail Greeting

If you have never signed into voicemail before, please skip down to the section “Brand new user setup” – otherwise pick the method that matches how you want to modify your greeting

From your telephone:

  • From your telephone, press the button to the left of the extension you want to modify voicemail on (in many cases, this is not the first button on the phone)
  • Pick up your receiver and then press voicemail button. This button looks like a cassette tape ( Copyc3b02213dd5e.png)
  • Enter your current voicemail passcode followed by #. (If you need to reset it – please use these instructions to reset your passcode yourself).
  • Press #4 – for Setup
    • Change Greeting – Press 1
    • Follow the prompts

From any district telephone:

  • From a district telephone, dial 1060 - (this is the extension to the Unity messaging system).
  • When the system answers with its welcome message, "Hello Cisco Unity messaging system..."

    • Immediately press the star key (*)
    • Enter your voicemail ID number (this is your 4-digit extension) followed by #.
    • Enter your PIN # followed by #
  • Press #4 – or Setup
    • Change Greeting – Press 1
    • Follow the prompts

From an off-campus telephone:

  • From an off-campus phone dial 262.968.6300.
  • When the system answers with the auto attendant message

    • Immediately press the star key (*)
    • Enter your voicemail ID number (this will be your phone extension) followed by the pound key (#)
    • Enter your PIN # followed by #
  • Press #4 – or Setup
    • Change Greeting – Press 1
    • Follow the prompts

From any district computer (while on the district network)

  • Go to the following link: https://do-cuc1.kmsd.local/ciscopca/home.do
  • Sign in with your regular district username (no @kmsd.edu is required) and password
  • Navigate to "Messaging Assistant"
  • Click "Greetings" along the top
  • To modify your “Standard” greeting – click the word “Standard”
  • Click the “Record” button – this should all you to create your recording on your computerCopy1c929ccb5cac.png
  • Alternatively, change the recording source to “Phone” and the system will call you at your extension so you can record the messageCopy47c0f8adc8ea.png

Setting a vacation / out-of-office greeting

  • You can go under Setup menu (Option #4) in the voicemail menu to do this, but we recommend using the web method for changing this

  • Sign in with your regular district username (no @kmsd.edu is required) and password

    • Navigate to "Messaging Assistant"
    • Click "Greetings" along the top
  • Click the word “Alternate”Copyac2abc206a4d.png
  • Configure an “Enabled until date”Copy57d97b0ef343.png

  • Click the “Record” button – this should allow you to create your recording on your computer.

  • Alternatively, change the recording source to “Phone” and the system will call you at your extension so you can record the message

Brand new user setup:

  • Use one of the above methods
  • When prompted for a PIN, use 124578#
  • The Unity system will prompt you to:
    • Record your name
    • Record a greeting
    • Set a new password (a minimum of 5-digits)
  • Once you have completed all the prompts your voicemail box is ready to receive messages.
